This design was commissioned to increase the capacity of the current centre that had served the community for many decades. The new two-story building provides four classrooms for 110 children between 0 and 5 years old. The building is formed by two stacked discs located to the east side of the site, opening the views to the park previously hidden behind the old building. Natural vegetation and the organic playground elements soften the level difference between building and ground and offer interactive transitions from the playrooms to the outdoor areas. The design is sensitive to the broad spectrum of human abilities providing access and participation by all.
