AOA was engaged to design a 120 place Childcare Centre located in Clyde North’s St Germain precinct. The building wraps the block with a façade of recycled brick, and stepped metal cladding that reveals windows, creating a dynamic visual effect as people pass by on the street. The warm red and orange hues create a strong street presence while conveying a friendly, inviting character for children and families.

Inside natural, tactile materials provide calm, nurturing spaces for learning and play. The interiors balance the vibrant exterior, creating an environment that feels safe, light, warm and inspiring for children and staff.

At the heart of the Centre is a central courtyard that brings light, greenery, and outdoor play into the school. This link between indoor and outdoor spaces encourages exploration, interaction, and a strong sense of community, connecting children, families, and staff within the Centre and to the surrounding neighbourhood.
