The architecture of the community hub building integrates harmoniously with its natural surroundings within W.A. Scammell reserve, offering a blend of functionality and aesthetics. The design features a cantilevered curved timber-lined roof, gently enveloping a large existing tree. This architectural element serves as a visual focal point while demonstrating a commitment to preserving the natural environment and incorporating it into the building’s design.
The curved timber-lined roof creates a warm and organic connection with the surrounding landscape, enhancing the building’s atmosphere. It also forms a deep verandah, providing a protected outdoor play area and extending indoor spaces for children to explore, play, and engage with nature and each other.
