Having been completely burnt down in the 2020 East Gippsland fires AOA were tasked with not only rebuilding the buildings but to also reinforce the strong community connection the 100 year long contribution Clifton Creek Primary School has had to the region. With considerable community consultation, AOA designed a highly environmentally sustainable response. AOA developed a building footprint that maximised passive solar gain while including a Solar PV system, rainwater collection system, performance glazing and many other sustainable design initiatives to achieve a 5 star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia. Rammed Earth Walls using local Bairnsdale Oche sand as well as a standalone Community Centre will give Clifton Creek Primary School a unique offering.
