Celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Field, the National Gallery of Victoria’s first temporary exhibition in its new St Kilda Road building, this competition entry addressed a pivotal event in the history of Australian art, while providing a sequence of immersive spaces, formed to stimulate contemplation, activity and observation; key components in the genesis of Australia’s future art. In an energetic collaboration between Renee Weeden, Flood Slicer, AECOM engineers, Plan Cost quantity surveys and AOA Christopher Peck, this bold, yet refined salute to the NGV was created.
