A spacious Californian Bungalow was not quite spacious enough for our clients growing family, and required a series of minor tweaks to optimize the layout. These included the addition to the south side of the house, a master bedroom ensuite with sauna, and internally a new powder room, bathroom, and kitchen. The north facing side garden was transformed into a swimming pool, and a second level was added to the rear, detached brick garage to create an extra guest bedroom with study and bathroom. The most significant element to these works, the garage extension, developed with a roof that peeled back at 3 varying angles, to minimise the reduction in northern sunlight into the existing backyard.
